#1. Exchange Money At The

Airport ❌

Upon arrival the airport is guaranteed extra fees and high exchange rates. Best to go to your bank or credit union and order currency before your trip for a better rate.

#2. Accept The Conversion Rate On A Foreign ATM❌

When you use an ATM abroad, it will prompt you to accept or deny the conversion rate. Always select deny! Your bank will do the converting instead of the ATM for a better rate.

#3. Pay In US Dollars On Card
Machines ❌

When you're handed a card machine abroad there are going to be 2 options your currency and the local currency. Always opt to pay in the local currency. Otherwise they are going to give you a poor exchange rate so they profit.
